Giving Matters

With contributed revenue accounting for almost half of our organizational budget, your support is more than appreciated – it is critical. You are our greatest advocates and partners in our mission to produce extraordinary theatre experiences that educate, challenge, and inspire young people and their communities.

CTC’s Giving Matters funds offer you an opportunity to designate your annual donation to the area of CTC you are most passionate about. We want you to be able to give in a way that matters most to you. Below are the four core funds that make up Giving Matters.

Art Matters Fund
CTC is a major cultural institution whose national and international reputation is rooted in its high artistic quality. Donations to the Arts Matters Fund helps support CTC’s world-class productions, resident Acting Company, Performing Apprentices, new play development program, musicians, designers, directors, technicians, and visiting artists.

Early Childhood Matters Fund
CTC recognizes that the earliest years of a child’s life are crucial to their development. As a national leader in creating work for children ages 2 – 5, CTC works with playwrights, performers, and educators to support young children’s social, emotional, and cognitive development. Donations to the Early Childhood Matters Fund support CTC’s Early Bridges program, new play development for our youngest audience, Theatre Arts Training classes for early learners, and classes/trainings for educators, caregivers, and parents in the community.

Education Matters Fund
CTC’s art-infused education programs expand on school curriculum to strengthen critical thinking skills, deepen creativity, and encourage young people to find their voice and take risks. Donations to the Education Matters Fund allow CTC to enhance learning through the nationally-recognized Neighborhood Bridges program, educator workshops, Theatre Arts Training classes, and internship opportunities.

Opportunity Matters Fund
CTC is committed to a future where our theatre is a home for all, working to remove financial and accessibility barriers to our productions and classes. Donations to the Opportunity Matters Fund help eliminate barriers to participation by supporting our Student Matinee program, ACT Pass, Audio Description/American Sign Language/Sensory Friendly performances, Theatre Arts Training scholarships, and programming brought directly to at-risk children in our community.

CTC donors play a major role in helping:

  • Provide arts education programs to more than 3,000 students a year
  • Maintain a permanent acting company - CTC is one of the last theaters in the nation to have such a program
  • Create new work for young people. CTC's new play laboratory, Threshold, supports the development of new productions for our stages. More than 30 new plays have been created since 1998.
  • Help train tomorrow's theater professionals by funding scholarships for our Theatre Arts Training classes
