Give Bridges

See how you can give students space to shine

"To support the arts is to support the voices that have been unheard before." – Mardryka A., Neighborhood Bridges intern

Your gifts help Children’s Theatre Company educate, challenge, and inspire young people and their communities through programs like Neighborhood Bridges. And for twenty years, Bridges teaching artists and educators like Julie T. and Mardryka A. have been encouraging students in local schools to celebrate the stories around us and within us.

Neighborhood Bridges students learn to question stories, build confidence, and practice teamwork in their weekly two-hour sessions. After reading and discussing a story, Bridges students write their own versions of the tale and act it out in front of their class. They boldly reimagine stories to solve injustices, highlight unheard voices, and incorporate elements of their own lives. And after a year of hard work, students take those skills to create and perform original work on CTC’s stage at the Crossing Bridges Festival.

Julie T., who was a Bridges classroom teacher for years before becoming a school administrator, describes how Crossing Bridges gives students space to shine:

"The culmination of performing the play at the end of the year at CTC was always absolutely magical. The preparation we put into it, the anticipation that the students had, and how proud and excited they were to get up on that stage – as a teacher watching it happen was delightful."

Your gifts make moments like this possible and more. Children’s Theatre Company programs like Neighborhood Bridges are not possible without the generous support of donors like you. Every gift matters, and your contribution has a direct impact on children in our community:

  • $50 buys one notebook for each student in a Bridges classroom
  • $150 funds an art activity for a preschool Bridges classroom
  • $250 buys materials for one classroom’s production at the Crossing Bridges Festival
  • $500 adds a new story to the Bridges curriculum

Thank you for your consideration!
